What is I2U2 Initiative?
The I2U2 initiative is a strategic partnership between four countries: India, Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United States. The initiative was launched in September 2020 as a way to promote cooperation and innovation in various fields, including healthcare, agriculture, and technology.
The name “I2U2” stands for “Innovation, Investment, Utility, and User Engagement.” These four pillars represent the key areas of focus for the initiative:
- Innovation: The I2U2 initiative aims to promote innovation in various sectors, particularly in areas related to the COVID-19 pandemic response and recovery. The partnership seeks to encourage the development of new technologies, products, and services that can help address the challenges posed by the pandemic.
- Investment: The I2U2 partners are committed to promoting investment in each other’s countries, with a focus on fostering economic growth and job creation. The initiative aims to facilitate greater trade and investment flows between the four countries, and to encourage the private sector to take advantage of new opportunities for collaboration and investment.
- Utility: The I2U2 initiative aims to promote the utility and practical application of new technologies and innovations. The partnership seeks to encourage the development of solutions that can be widely adopted and used by individuals, businesses, and governments to improve their lives and their communities.
- User Engagement: Finally, the I2U2 initiative emphasizes the importance of user engagement and collaboration. The partnership seeks to foster closer ties between researchers, entrepreneurs, and end-users, with the goal of promoting greater innovation and more effective solutions to common challenges.
