International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC): Introduction and Key Initiatives
The International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC) is an international organization that promotes cooperation on energy efficiency issues among countries around the world. It was established in 1992 and is headquartered in Paris, France. IPEEC is a partnership of governments, international organizations, and industry stakeholders, and it works to advance the global energy efficiency agenda through collaboration and the sharing of best practices.
IPEEC’s membership consists of countries from around the world, as well as international organizations such as the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). IPEEC works to promote energy efficiency through a variety of activities, including research, policy development, and capacity building.
Initiatives and Programs
The International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC) has a number of initiatives and programs that promote energy efficiency around the world. Some examples include:
- Global Superior Energy Performance Partnership (GSEP) – This is a program that promotes the adoption of best practices in energy management by industry. It provides resources and support to help companies improve their energy performance and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
- Buildings and Communities Program (BCP) – This is a program that promotes the adoption of best practices in energy efficiency in buildings and communities. It provides resources and support to help governments, businesses, and other organizations improve the energy performance of their buildings and communities.
- Industry and Services Program (ISP) – This is a program that promotes the adoption of best practices in energy efficiency in industry and services. It provides resources and support to help governments, businesses, and other organizations improve the energy performance of their operations.
- Transportation Program (TP) – This is a program that promotes the adoption of best practices in energy efficiency in transportation. It provides resources and support to help governments, businesses, and other organizations improve the energy performance of their transportation systems.
- Energy Data and Analysis Program (EDAP) – This is a program that promotes the use of energy data and analysis to support energy efficiency policy and decision-making. It provides resources and support to help governments, businesses, and other organizations collect, analyze, and use energy data to inform their energy efficiency efforts.
